Aluminium coil manufacturers

When sourcing aluminium coils, you must prioritize Alloy Grade (e.g., 1000 series for conductivity, 3000 for corrosion resistance, or 5000/6000 for structural strength). Key metrics include Thickness Tolerance (typically ±0.02mm), Temper (H14, H24, O, etc., which defines hardness), and Surface Finish (Mill finish, Color-coated, or Embossed). Ensure the supplier provides a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) to verify chemical composition and mechanical properties.

To ensure global market entry and safety, products should comply with ASTM B209 (U.S. standard) or EN 485/573 (European standards). For specific industries like food packaging or electronics, verify RoHS compliance and REACH certification. If the coils are for construction, look for ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems and CE marking for the European Economic Area.

For color-coated aluminium coils (PPAL), evaluate the Coating Thickness (measured in microns, usually 15-25μm) and the type of paint used, such as PVDF (for superior weather resistance) or PE (for indoor use). Request T-bend tests, Impact resistance reports, and Salt spray test results to ensure the coating will not crack or peel during fabrication or exposure to harsh environments.

1000 Series is ideal for the chemical and electrical industries due to high purity. 3000 Series (Al-Mn) is the 'rust-proof' choice for roofing and AC evaporators. 5000 Series (Al-Mg) is preferred for marine environments and automotive parts due to high fatigue strength. 6000 Series is used where high extrusion performance and structural integrity are required.

Aluminium is a commodity linked to LME (London Metal Exchange) prices. To manage risk, negotiate a formula-based pricing model (LME + Fabrication Charge) rather than a fixed price for long-term contracts. Additionally, consider locking in prices with a deposit when market rates are favorable, and always clarify which day's LME rate will be used for the final invoice.

Aluminium is sensitive to moisture and physical deformation. Insist on Eye-to-Sky or Eye-to-Wall packaging with heavy-duty wooden pallets. Ensure the use of VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) paper, plastic film, and desiccant to prevent white rust (oxidation) during sea transit. For shipping, FOB (Free on Board) is recommended if you have a reliable freight forwarder to control costs and handling.

Conduct due diligence by checking if the supplier is an Audited Supplier on Made-in-China.com, which verifies their factory existence and production capacity. Use Secured Payment services to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. For large orders, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) to verify quantity and quality.

Evaluate the supplier's Slitting and Cutting capabilities—can they provide specific widths and inner diameters (505mm/605mm)? Check their Monthly Output to ensure they can scale with your needs. Top-tier suppliers on Made-in-China.com often offer OEM/ODM services and can provide samples within 7-10 days for quality validation before bulk commitment.
