I have found results from3000+products and900+suppliers about2 stroke engine crankshaft
For 2-stroke engines, the crankshaft must withstand high RPMs and intense heat. Prioritize Forged Steel (such as 40Cr or 20CrMo) over cast iron for superior tensile strength. Ensure the connecting rod is heat-treated and the crankpin is precision-ground to a tolerance of ±0.005mm. Additionally, verify the use of high-speed needle roller bearings (e.g., brands like NSK or SKF) to ensure rotational stability and longevity.
A poorly balanced crankshaft leads to excessive vibration and engine failure. Request a Dynamic Balance Test Report from the supplier, ensuring the balance grade meets ISO 1940 G2.5 or G6.3. For quality management, only source from manufacturers with ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 certification, which are the gold standards for automotive and engine component manufacturing.
To prevent premature wear, the crankshaft journals should undergo Induction Hardening or Nitriding, reaching a surface hardness of HRC 58-62. This treatment significantly improves fatigue resistance and reduces friction at the bearing contact points, which is critical for 2-stroke engines that rely on oil-mixed fuel for lubrication.
Compatibility is determined by the stroke length, taper size of the flywheel end, and woodruff key slot dimensions. Always request a technical drawing (PDF or CAD) to compare with your OEM specifications. For B2B buyers, it is recommended to order a functional sample to test the fitment and 'run-out' (which should be less than 0.03mm) before committing to a bulk purchase.
The main risks include material substitution (using lower grade steel) and dimensional inaccuracies. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure payment is only released after quality verification. Always hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a pre-shipment inspection focusing on hardness testing and dimensional checks.
For specialized engine parts, MOQs often range from 50 to 200 pieces. Negotiate a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops by 10-15% as volume doubles. If you are a first-time buyer, negotiate a 'Sample-to-Bulk' credit, where the cost of the initial sample is deducted from your first mass production order.
Crankshafts are heavy and prone to corrosion. Insist on VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) paper wrapping or a rust-preventative oil coating for each unit. For shipping, use custom-fitted foam inserts or plastic cradles within reinforced wooden crates to prevent bending or surface damage during transit. For large volumes, Sea Freight (FOB) is the most economical, but ensure the supplier provides a detailed packing list and Bill of Lading.
Check the HS Code (typically 8483.10) for your specific country to calculate import duties. Be aware of anti-dumping duties that may apply to certain steel products in regions like the EU or USA. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (CO), which may allow you to benefit from Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and significantly reduce your tax liability.
