For plastic bottles, ensure they are BPA-free and made from Tritan™ copolyester, which offers high impact resistance and clarity. For metal options, Food-Grade 304 (18/8) Stainless Steel is the industry standard for durability and corrosion resistance. If choosing glass, specify Borosilicate glass to ensure thermal shock resistance.

Since this is a food-contact product, it must comply with FDA (U.S.) or LFGB (Germany/EU) standards. Ensure the supplier provides Migration Test Reports to prove no harmful chemicals leach into the water. For children's versions, CPSIA or EN71 certifications are required.

Key features include vacuum insulation (for stainless steel) to maintain temperature for 12-24 hours, leak-proof silicone seals, and ergonomic grips. For fitness-focused markets, consider adding time markers, one-click flip tops, and integrated carry loops.

Request a vacuum leak test and an inverted pressure test. The bottle should show zero leakage when held upside down for 30 minutes or when subjected to a 1.2-meter drop test while full. Ensure the silicone gasket is food-grade and securely seated.

This is a common risk with low-grade stainless steel or recycled plastics. Request a pre-production sample and perform a 'boiling water test.' If an odor persists after washing, the material grade is likely inferior. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading Service to hold payment until third-party inspection confirms material purity.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume; for 1,000+ units, you should aim for a 15-20% discount compared to the sample price. Negotiate for customized packaging (OEM) and logo silk-screening to be included in the unit price for large orders. Always clarify Incoterms (FOB vs. DDP) early to avoid hidden logistics costs.

Due to the high volume-to-weight ratio (especially for non-collapsible bottles), Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical for orders over 200kg. For smaller trial batches, Air Freight is faster but can be 3-4 times more expensive. Ensure the supplier uses double-walled corrugated export cartons to prevent denting during transit.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone on-site verification by SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Always use Escrow-based payment methods and never wire full payments to private bank accounts. A standard 30% deposit / 70% balance against Bill of Lading (B/L) is the safest professional practice.
