Wire hanger manufacturers

When selecting wire hangers, the wire gauge (thickness) is the most critical factor; standard commercial hangers typically range from 13-gauge (heavy-duty) to 14.5-gauge (standard). You must also specify the coating type, such as galvanized steel for rust resistance, powder coating for aesthetic variety, or PVC/Vinyl coating to provide a non-slip surface. Ensure the hook neck length and shoulder width (typically 16 to 18 inches) align with your specific garment types to prevent fabric stretching.

Prioritize suppliers who adhere to ISO 9001 for quality management systems. For coated hangers, it is essential to verify compliance with REACH or RoHS standards to ensure the coatings are free from lead, phthalates, and other hazardous chemicals. Request salt spray test reports to validate the anti-corrosion properties, especially if the products will be used in high-humidity environments or for industrial laundry services.

For industrial dry cleaners, lightweight 14.5-gauge galvanized hangers are cost-effective for high-volume turnover. For retail environments, powder-coated or luxury finished hangers are preferred for brand alignment. If sourcing for heavy garments like coats or uniforms, a strut hanger with a cardboard tube or a heavy-duty 13-gauge wire is necessary to prevent bending and maintain garment shape.

The primary cost drivers are raw material (steel) market prices and shipping volume. Since hangers are low-value but high-volume items, maximizing container utilization is key. Look for suppliers who offer nested packaging to reduce dead space. Purchasing in Full Container Loads (FCL) can reduce unit costs by 15-25% compared to Less than Container Load (LCL) due to lower handling fees and optimized freight rates.

The most frequent risks include surface oxidation (rusting) during sea transit and deformation due to improper stacking. To mitigate this, insist on moisture-proof packaging (silica gel desiccant) and reinforced 5-layer corrugated export cartons. Additionally, verify the supplier's production capacity to avoid delays during peak seasons when steel prices fluctuate.

Focus on tiered pricing based on annual volume rather than a single order. Request a sample kit containing different gauges and finishes to verify quality before placing a deposit. Negotiate for flexible payment terms such as a 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L), and use Trade Resources provided by the platform to verify the supplier's audited status.

Wire hangers are often classified under HS Code 7326.20 (Articles of iron or steel wire). Ensure your supplier provides an accurate Packing List and Commercial Invoice to avoid customs delays. Be aware of anti-dumping duties that some countries (like the U.S.) may impose on specific steel products from certain regions; always consult with a licensed customs broker to confirm the current duty rates for your specific destination.

Always conduct transactions through secure payment channels and consider using third-party inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). This ensures the quantity and wire gauge match your specifications before the final balance is paid.
