Wholesale cotton garment bag manufacturers

When sourcing cotton garment bags, the fabric weight (GSM - Grams per Square Meter) is the most critical factor. For premium wholesale needs, look for 100% natural cotton or canvas with a weight between 150gsm to 300gsm to ensure breathability and durability. Ensure the fabric is acid-free to prevent yellowing of delicate garments like wedding dresses or suits over long-term storage. Additionally, verify if the cotton is pre-shrunk to maintain dimensions after potential cleaning.

A professional-grade bag must feature a reinforced hanger opening at the top to prevent tearing under the weight of heavy coats. The zipper quality is paramount; prioritize #5 nylon or metal zippers with a smooth glide and a zipper guard to prevent snagging the fabric inside. For B2B buyers, adding a transparent PVC ID pocket (typically 4x6 inches) is essential for easy inventory identification without opening the bag.

To meet international market requirements, ensure the supplier provides OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, which guarantees the textile is free from harmful substances. If your brand emphasizes sustainability, request GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification. For the US market, ensure compliance with California Proposition 65 regarding lead and phthalate content in any plastic or metal components used in the bag.

Examine the stitching density, which should be at least 8-10 stitches per inch for structural integrity. Check for overlock or French seams on the interior to prevent fraying. Perform a load-bearing test by hanging a 5kg garment for 48 hours to check for seam slippage. Also, verify the colorfastness to rubbing (ISO 105-X12) to ensure the bag's dye does not transfer onto the expensive clothing stored inside.

Always utilize Third-Party Inspection (TPI) services like V-Trust or SGS before the final payment. Request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) focusing on AQL 2.5 standards. For secure transactions, use Escrow-based payment systems provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com, which ensure funds are only released once the shipping documents are verified and the goods meet the agreed-upon specifications.

Focus on tiered pricing based on volume; for cotton goods, a jump from 500 to 2,000 units can often reduce the unit price by 15-20%. Negotiate for customized branding (silk-screen or embroidery) to be included in the unit price for orders exceeding 1,000 pieces. Ask for a 'Golden Sample' to be kept by both parties as a quality benchmark for all future production runs.

Cotton is highly susceptible to moisture and mold during sea transit. Insist that the supplier uses desiccant silica gel packs in every master carton and utilizes waterproof inner polybags for each bundle. When shipping to the US or Europe, clarify the HS Code (typically 4202.92) to accurately calculate import duties and avoid customs delays.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com, as these manufacturers have undergone on-site verification of their facilities and business licenses. Check the supplier's export history to your specific country to ensure they are familiar with your local customs regulations and labeling requirements (such as Country of Origin labels).
