Mafi trailer manufacturers

Selecting the correct capacity is critical for operational safety. Standard Mafi trailers typically range from 40 tons to 120 tons. You must evaluate the maximum gross weight of your cargo plus a 20% safety margin. For dimensions, while 20ft and 40ft are industry standards, ensure the platform width (usually 2.5m to 3.0m) accommodates oversized loads without compromising the structural integrity of the main beam.

For port and terminal use, prioritize high-tensile Q345B or Q690 steel for the chassis to prevent bending under stress. The running gear should feature oscillating bogies to maintain tire contact on uneven surfaces. Additionally, specify reinforced solid rubber tires to eliminate the risk of punctures and ensure a heavy-duty gooseneck tunnel that is compatible with standard 4x2 or 4x4 terminal tractors.

Since Mafi trailers operate in high-salinity environments, the steel must undergo sandblasting to Sa 2.5 grade. The coating system should include a zinc-rich epoxy primer followed by a polyurethane topcoat with a total thickness of at least 120μm. This ensures the trailer resists sea salt corrosion and maintains its lifespan for over 10-15 years.

Ensure the manufacturer complies with ISO 9001 for quality management. For international maritime safety, the trailer design should ideally follow IACS (International Association of Classification Societies) guidelines. Request welding certificates (AWS or EN standards) to verify the structural soundness of critical load-bearing joints.

Mafi trailers are bulky; shipping them 'fully assembled' via Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) is the safest but most expensive method. To save costs, consider SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) shipping in 40HC containers if the trailer width allows, or stacking multiple units (3-4 units per stack) to reduce the freight volume per unit. Always confirm the Incoterms (FOB vs. CIF) to clarify who bears the risk during the ocean transit.

The primary risks include material substitution (using lower grade steel) and poor welding quality. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's 'Audited Supplier' reports to verify factory capabilities. It is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or BV) to perform a load-bearing test and ultrasonic weld inspection before final payment is released.

Negotiate a spare parts package (including extra tires, bearings, and axle pins) to be included in the initial purchase. Ensure the contract specifies technical drawing provision and a warranty period of at least 12-24 months on the main structure. For complex fleets, request video installation guides or remote engineering support to assist your local maintenance team.

Given the high unit price of Mafi trailers, use Secured Trading services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Avoid 100% upfront payments; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) or a Letter of Credit (L/C) is the safest financial structure for international trade.
