Lcd ccfl lamps manufacturers

When sourcing CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) tubes, you must prioritize tube diameter (typically 1.8mm to 4.0mm) and lamp length to ensure physical compatibility with the LCD panel. Additionally, verify the starting voltage (Vs) and operating current (mA); using a lamp that does not match the original inverter output can lead to flickering or premature failure. For industrial applications, look for lamps with a brightness (Luminance) of at least 30,000 cd/m² and a color temperature (K) that aligns with the display's original calibration.

A high-quality CCFL should offer a lifespan of 30,000 to 50,000 hours. You should request test reports regarding vacuum integrity and the quality of the phosphor coating, which prevents rapid brightness decay. Ensure the supplier uses hard glass (borosilicate) to resist thermal shock. It is highly recommended to check if the supplier is ISO 9001 certified and if they perform 100% burn-in testing for at least 2-4 hours before shipping to eliminate 'infant mortality' failures.

Since CCFLs contain trace amounts of mercury (Hg), compliance with the RoHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) is mandatory for the EU and North American markets. You must also ensure the product meets CE marking requirements for electronic components. For medical or automotive-grade LCDs, verify if the components meet ISO/TS 16949 or specific UL certifications to ensure safety and environmental reliability.

While LED is now standard, CCFL is still sourced for legacy equipment maintenance, medical imaging displays, and industrial HMI (Human Machine Interface) where the original inverter architecture cannot be easily converted. When sourcing for these scenarios, focus on long-term availability (EOL support). Ask the supplier if they provide custom wire harness assembly (JST or BHSR connectors), as manual soldering of CCFL leads is delicate and prone to high-voltage arcing if not done professionally.

The primary risk is physical breakage due to the extremely fragile nature of thin glass tubes. You must insist on specialized packaging, such as PVC tube reinforcement or thick EPE foam slots within a rigid outer carton. For large orders, palletization is non-negotiable to prevent rough handling. Always clarify the incoterms; using CIF or insurance-covered terms is advised so that the buyer is protected against transit damage.

Start by requesting a sample run (e.g., 10-20 pieces) to verify the color rendering and fit. When moving to bulk, leverage the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by negotiating for spare units (typically 2-3% over-delivery) to account for potential installation breakage. For long-term partnerships, discuss staggered payment terms (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% after passing a third-party pre-shipment inspection).

To ensure transaction security, utilize the secured payment services provided by Made-in-China.com. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) explicitly states the technical tolerances (+/- mm) and mercury content compliance. If the order value is high, hire a third-party inspector to verify the quantity and perform a light-up test at the factory before the final balance is paid.

Be aware of the Minamata Convention on Mercury, which aims to phase out mercury-added products. Some countries have strict import quotas or special disposal fees for mercury-containing lamps. Check your local Customs Tariff (HS Code 8539.31) for any anti-dumping duties or environmental levies that might apply to gas-discharge lamps from specific manufacturing regions.
